The Gifted

The Gifted are not quite human, though they are more human than any of the other species. They crave and desire power and strength, just like humans always did. Though they seek their power from the gene that allows them to gather energy and depending on the type of gene they carry, they can mould that energy into a form of magic. The various moulds are elemental, where they control, to a degree, wind, water, earth and fire, spiritual, where there spirits leave their bodies are they can enter the dead and the living and control them for as long as an hour, refigure, where they can use the materials around them, such as stone, wood and metal, to create weapons, and healer, where they can repair cells at an astounding rate, and see the inner workings of a body without opening it up.

The genes that allow these beings their abilities also have side effects on the appearance of these people. They can have very strange coloured eyes and sometimes hair colour. They say it reflects their ability, an expression of their power on the outside of their body. Understandably, they are easy to spot, so they will often wear long dark, hooded cloaks to conceal themselves. When these beings reproduce and bear children, they can strengthen the powers of the child by choosing a partner with the same ability, for if they cross genes, the child gets a weaker mixed form of the parent's powers. Eye colour and hair colour are simply chance.

A rare phenomenon has occurred in these people however. Some members of The Gifted have become junkies to vampire bites. As they have discovered, small injections of the venom can create a harmless, but addictive sensation. The few that are in fact junkies of the poison usually strike a deal with a vampire. They give them a couple of harmless bites, in return for some blood. The level of addiction can be seen in these deals, as a vampire could easily simply suck them dry, but this is unusual, as a permanent source of blood for a vampire is very appealing. The bites are often given in places where The Gifted can be secretive about their addiction, and not allow the Clan to find out. Places like on the sides of the thighs, the under section of the arms, and around the torso area are the most likely areas to discover tiny bites.

When they posses, they can either stay in the body for over the hour and then that becomes their body and evidently the former soul is left to be a ghost. They can also remove weakened souls (eg. when they are physically or emotionally damaged) by force when the posses and 'lock' the mind of the body so the soul cannot re-enter.
They may also hold one soul captive at a time, and either destroy the soul by releasing it without a body, returning it to their body, or placing it into another body that already has a soul. A body can be fused with two souls thus giving the body literally a split personality.

But to do any of these to another character, you must have the players permission.
