Personality:
Valeria is normally quite sweet. She doesn't like to get stressed out about anything so she is always looking at the positives in a bad situation. Valeria is very friendly and she enjoys socializing. But the one thing Valeria hates, is war, no matter what the reason she sees no reason to have it. Valeria holds herself up to her own family's expectations. They were always supposed to be kind, wise, cautious, friendly, but fierce when need be. Valeria doesn't mind getting physical when she absolutely sees no other way to get through to someone.
Valeria is wise. She always has something to say about every situation. Most of the times she gives her own opinion about what she would do. When Valeria is quiet during any situation she obviously agrees with whoever is making the decisions. Valeria doesn't speak without thinking though. Every thought that runs through her head, she analyzes thoroughly rarely leaving any room for a flaw in her thoughts. The only time when she doesn't think things through is when she is very tired as most people do. Valeria tends to over think things at times.
Valeria wouldn't be described as an aggressive person. Valeria is hardly ever mean, and when she says something that sounds a bit mean, she isn't doing it on purpose. Valeria has the tendency to make her appearance known instead of just sticking to the shadows. Her family had always been very outspoken and had never been afraid to show who they truly are.

Past:
Valeria was born in 1909 to her Italian parents Anthony and Adriana Dominick. Two years before Valeria was born her parents had a son named Maximilian. The Dominick family lived in Venice and were very well known throughout the city. In Venice the Gifted were worshiped. Because most of the family were healers they had made quite living as doctors. The people in Venice were in awe of the Gifted powers. A few people even tried to learn the art of healing but they could never successfully heal anyone through magic. Valeria's grew up in a good atmosphere. Her mother had been schooled as a child by many great teachers and so she taught her children to share her knowledge with them. Not only did Adriana teach Max and Valeria the elders in the Dominick family and distant relatives would school the young children from time to time when their parents could not.
Valeria's household was strict but loving. Her father made sure that education was his children's top priority. He always told them, "Just because you are Gifted doesn't mean you can do everything." It was true. Although the Gifted had special powers, they weren't given the power to know everything at birth, they actually had to work to gain knowledge. Valeria's mother ran a bakery as well. So when Valeria was eight and Max was ten they began to help out in the bakery. Valeria learned all of the recipes over time and by the time she was fourteen she began cooking many of the baked goods herself. Max eventually began to go to work with his father in order to follow in his father's footsteps.
When Valeria was eighteen she met a boy named Agustus. He and his family had moved to Venice recently and he had been sent by his mother to buy some bread. Valeria wasn't sure what she was feeling at the time, but once she figured it out she couldn't let go of Agustus. He was one of the few people who actually wanted to learn how to heal. Valeria tried to tell him that you couldn't just "learn" you had to be born with the gift. But that didn't stop him. But when Agustus realized that he did not have the powers Valeria and her family did he was furious. Valeria, blinded by love, never knew that Agustus had used her to try and get to her power. Agustus made the claim that the Dominick's didn't allow anyone to learn how to heal so they could keep it to themselves. Hardly anyone listened to him, but those that did rose up and tried to get the Dominick's to give up their secrets or else they would be exiled from Venice. But Agustus and his followers instead were kicked out of Venice.
Valeria was rather hurt but this bit within a few months she got over it. Valeria's family continued on with life as did everyone else in Venice. Valeria eventually moved out of her parent's home and bought her own place. A very small apartment with one room. But Valeria didn't mind. She lived above her mother's bakery and so she kept watch over it whenever her mother didn't. Valeria did take up ownership of the bakery after a while but she also healed people on the side for no cost like the rest of her family did, but she only healed small cases like cuts, nose bleeds, etc. Most of the people that came to her were kids who had gotten into a fight and needed to get cleaned up so their mother's wouldn't scold them.
Sample Post:
Valeria sat by the window. She was sewing a rip in the dress her mother was planning to wear to the ball this coming weekend. Valeria didn't understand why her mother couldn't sew the dress herself, she wasn't as busy as Valeria was. She had to go down and clean the shop, then open it and serve all of its customers until the late afternoon. She would be lucky if the two twins she hired Aleron and Alida came. They were such sweet kids though, she wouldn't get mad at them. Then Valeria remembered that she needed to finish a dress she had made for Alida. Valeria's mother had just bought Aleron a suit not seeing the sense in hand making any clothes when you could just buy it.
Valeria set down the dress, having decided that she could finish it tonight, and went to pull out the box she had wrapped Alida's dress in. The dress was a dark emerald green with a black trim, a scooped neck, and black lace sleeves. Valeria had actually been quite proud of the dress herself when she was done and she hoped Alida would love the dress.
Valeria headed down the old creaky wood stairs and into the bakery. The windows were dark as the shades had been pulled over them. Valeria hurried over to the counter to make sure everything was in order before she pulled back the shades and opened the front door. Standing there was Alida of course. She was always on time since she took work more seriously than her brother did. Alida immediately glanced at the box. She was sixteen now and was allowed to go to the balls as long as she acted like a complete lady. Valeria had told her that she would have something for her. Alida pointed to the box. "Is that what you were talking about?" Valeria nodded. She let Alida pass her before she led the young girl over to the table the box sat on. "Can I open it?" Alida asked. Valeria nodded. Alida slowly slid off the large green ribbon and opened the gold box.
When the lifted the lid her eyes literally popped out of her head. Alida looked from Valeria to the dress and back. Her arms wrapped around Valeria's waist before she pulled out the dress. "It's beautiful!" Alida said as she held the dress up to her body and twirled around with it. Valeria smiled before she glanced at a woman who had just walked in. "Well, put it on one of the shelves, we have work to do." She said with a smile.
