Past:
Raina, like her twin, was born in the winter. Raina never got along with her sister. Her sister was always up to no good while Raina was busy clinging to her parent's legs begging for a cookie. Raina in a way seemed to be the favorite for a while. Her parents did pay a tad more attention to her because she was the easier one to handle and didn't constantly get on their nerves despite her tendency to cling to them.
Raina hadn't started to really get along with her sister until she was thirteen or so. She still was quite independent however. She would go off on her own to find somewhere quiet to practice the piano, listen to music, or read a book.
Raina had always been disapproving of her sister. She was what you would call the goody-two shoes and never did anything to upset her parents. The one time she did anything against her parent's wishes was when Dakota and a few of her friends convinced her to come out one night. Her parents caught the two but they didn't punish Raina and Dakota was grounded for two weeks.
Raina was always close to her parents, but even closer to her mother. They would do almost anything together. Raina gained a love for cooking after spending countless hours in the kitchen with her mother. It appeared she never left her mother's side. Raina never understood why Dakota started calling her parents by their first names. She was a bit confused by Dakota's actions because they had become to get closer to one another.
But when Dakota moved out of her parent's house Raina was pretty hurt. She loved her sister very much and she had felt a bit abandoned by Dakota. Raina knew Dakota was getting into trouble and despite her constant nagging for Dakota to come back home she never did. So Raina decided that she would find a place where they could both live and she could keep an eye on her sister.
Sample Post:
Raina sighed with relief. She had the whole house to herself for half an hour while Dakota went out for groceries. She sat down at her shiny black grand piano. She ran her fingers across the keys before resting her hand on her lap. She wasn't sure what to play but whenever she rested her hands on the keys a song popped into her head and she would just start playing. Today it was the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. Raina made it halfway through the song before she felt a weight at her feet. She looked down to see Zelda, their black Cane Corso. The large 105 lb. dog stared up at Raina with large brown eyes. Raina stopped playing for a minute to pet the dog before resuming.
Raina hadn't been able to finish the song before Zelda had begun to shove a toy in Raina's lap. Raina sighed angrily before grabbing the toy and throwing it down the hall. Zelda ran as fast as she could, which wasn't all that fast, after the ball. Raina turned back to her piano before resuming. But a minute alter Zelda was at her feet once again. "You're not going to ever let me finish are you?" She asked Zelda as she gently pet the dog behind her ears. Raina stood up and took the ball from Zelda. Where was Dakota when you needed her? She always kept Zelda busy.
It had been her idea to get the gigantic dog. Raina supposed she liked the dog alright but she didn't love it. She drooled and she weight just fifteen pounds less than her. That unnerved Raina a bit, she believed no dog should weigh almost as much as their owner.
