Appearance:
Mai is a very beautiful woman. Her hair is black in color, and has a little bit of charcoal like colors in it. Her eyes are a very pretty hazel blue like color that lets the ocean reflect well off of it. Her sisters would tease her and say she was like a mermaid since she spent the most time in the water apart from all of them
Her body is tall, lean and elegant, making her look more mythical then real. Her skin is a light color that rarely ever holds a tan. In her animal form is where she belongs and most of the time, like many shifters, she doesn't wear clothes. If she does it is normally a long black coat that she has that can remove the liner for colder climates.

Personality:
Mai is like her animal more then anything. She really doesn't go outside of the dolphin's inquisitive, gentle, intelligent nature. She has a strong will, and a sharp mind that normally keeps her on top. As strange as it is she is motherly. She loves to take care of people and will help anyone in need really
Rarely has she ever spent time in her human form thanks to her family, and their pod way of life, she acts very inhuman like and doesn't really get along with others unless she has to. Apart from that she is friendly and subject to being betrayed.
In her human form, she is shy, nervous, and isn't even sure who she can trust. But other times she can be fun and bubbly when she is around a group she enjoys. Mai doesn't really understand anything outside of her family life so it takes her a while to get to know anything really.

Past:
Mai was the 8th child of her parents. Being the youngest wasn't always the best but she dealt with it doing her best to do as good as her older siblings. Her family was a whole group of spotted dolphins and as soon as she was three and could shift, her parents kept her in the water.
Mai didn't go to school, and learned to read and write from her oldest siblings who had gone to school. She was a good student, spelling well and being able to read pretty fast thanks to her intelligence thanks to the dolphin in her
She did find someone around the age of sixteen who she thought she was going to marry. He was a land creature though who her family hated. Soon after they chased him away they tried to set her up with another man who was a dolphin but that didn't work out at all.
When the storm hit she was confused to be separated from her family but when she found them again she knew she liked living on her own better. So Mai left to start her own life. Her first year alone she found a young gifted male, named Devan, whom she is now carrying his child.
