Andreas was lost in thought as they rode along. He didn't want anyone getting into his head just to find out if he had bitten Mabel. He refrained from shaking his head but couldn't help but grind his teeth. Sometimes telepathy seemed like a damn curse! Andreas knew he had probably thought or said that a couple if not hundreds of times. He really had a problem with people trying to poke into his own head. Andreas was quite hypocritical when it came down to it because he poked around in other people's heads himself.
The good and bad sides of Andreas were at war, they always had been. He supposed everyone had that happen to them but Andreas had been this way since he was a little boy. Now it was one side trying to keep himself from reading other people's minds without a good, solid reason and another part of him was saying "screw them", why should he not use his gift just because it discomforted others?
Andreas snapped out of his deep thoughts when he heard Mabel's voice. "I have heard rumors.." Andreas's eyes were narrow as he thought about Night Crawlers being able to walk in the sunlight. There was a faint scratching at the back of his head that was really beginning to bother him now that he was thinking about being able to be out in the sun again. The feeling wasn't a good one and he figured it was because Night Crawlers + walking in the sunlight equaled complete disaster for all the other species. Sure, as a Night Crawler he should want to be out in the sun because then their race will become more powerful if not the most powerful. At least the dark side of Andreas was smiling and nodding his head. But that little Angel of a human that still stuck with him from his past was keeping him in check; making him way all the possibilities. So here's the major downfall.Andreas thought to himself. If we can walk in the sunlight again, our biggest threat and fear will be gone. Our weaknesses will be our own. But...what does that mean for every other species living on Earth? Night Crawlers could easily wipe them out...
Andreas was starting to think that his sire had been right about his multiple personality disorder or back then he had called it his alter-ego. Now it was beginning to really get screwed into his head as a very very strong possibility. If it hadn't been for Mabel's image he probably would have started weighing all of the possibilities like a mad man again. Maybe it was just the fact that he was literally starving to death that was making him a bit loopy.
"Easy there." Andreas said. He ran a hand through his hair as he stared at the back of Mabel's head for a moment. "Yes...we can go home." Andreas brushed aside a strand of hair and kissed Mabel's neck tenderly. He was trying to focus on anything but the beating heart of the horse and the pulse beneath its skin. When the horse finally came to a stop at the city you could have sworn Andreas flew off the horse. He closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them, only to find himself making eye contact with the four legged beast. He was grinding his teeth together in a desperate attempt to keep his cool and not rip the horse to shreds. The vampire crossed his arms and turned away from the horse and rested his head in a hand. "I think it is in my best interest to stay away from horses from now on... at least when I am thirsty." Andreas said, glancing over his shoulder at Mabel. He cast her a soft, crooked smile before turning his head away again.
